Royal Avenue Gardens next to the Boatfloat, has lovely gardens, a fountain and bandstand. The square is often host to a weekend charity event or sale, and is the focal point for the annual Royal Regatta, New Year's Eve Party and Dart Music Festival.
Bayards Cove is also worth a visit and was the setting for the popular 70's BBC tv series the Onedin Line. The Cove is lined with pastel coloured cottages rising up hill to Above Town.

The Cherub pub from the 15th Century. An Egon Ronay recommended restaurant, the quaint pub is tiny inside but worth the visit. In season the front is a riot of colour from pots and tubs of flowers. The town takes part in the annual "Britain in Bloom" competition and usually wins something. The Chantrey Bookshop can also be seen in the picture.
